How do I Add a Link to A File in Our Content Areas?

Please note: You must have administrator privileges in order to link to a file on the website.
ChapterWeb users have access to two types of file structure: Folder and Category. Follow the links below for specific instructions using…

Category File Structure

  • Login to your ChapterWeb account and click on the “Files” tab
  • Locate the file that you would like to link to, and click on the “URL” link beside the name of the file (see item 1 below).

  • Once you’ve selected the URL link a new window will appear with the URL of the file. Right click on the URL and copy to your computer’s clipboard (see item 2 below).

  • Once you’ve copied the URL of the file, you’ll want to press “OK” on the dialog box and return to the content area that you’d like to post your link.
  • Press the pencil icon to open the editor and navigate to where you’d like to place your link.
  • Put in some text (example: Click here to view our Dues form or 2010-2011 Dues).
  •  Highlight the text and press the link button (see item 3).

  • Paste the file URL into the URL field in the Hyperlink manager (see item 4 below) and press “OK” to save your changes. (Note:make sure the beginning of the address looks similar to the screen shot below which excludes the http:// at the beginning of the link) Url
